Awesome story Jon! Kind of reminds me of my first trip on my 1290 Rode to The Daniel Boone from central Indiana the weather was going nice down there. Rode 3 days then headed back and when i got to the Ohio River at Lexington the temp dropped to close to freezing. No breakdowns but spitting snow it was a long 3 hour ride worrying about I -65 freezing
Great story. I have had similar “adventures” on some of my rides while living in Utah. Probably more than I ever expected. Everything from straining my back on a single track up in the mountains, to getting lost out in the desert of Nevada without water, a map or cell service while out on a “casual” afternoon ride Situations that we’re down right scary at the time but turned into learning experiences that ultimately left me better prepared for the next ride.
Yup! Sh*t happens and you learn from it. To bad our foresight is not as good as our hindsight, but then, well, we probably wouldn't be riding bikes off road, lol! Glad you enjoyed it!
